Support Education

My Father lived in Uganda where opportunities are for the very few, it didn't stop him of dreaming a different life but he knew he was sharing his fade with most of mankind. For me the struggle agains mass poverty is about bringing hope about better future in the people's life, but hope can be puzzled by challenge. The responsibility of evaluators like myself and generous people like you is to make hope credible, the challenge of educating people in northen Uganda is what is motivating me as evaluator, beyond my evaluation work at BasicNeed UK in Uganda, I advise civil society organisations implementing development projects in northern Uganda and provide educational motivational speeches to young people in schools. Through my books I tried to motivate learners to excell in their academic lives and ensure they escape poverty. As of 2012 1.4 billion people lived below an income threshold of 1$,25 cent per day. If we financed the education of these young generation, we can have credible hope that the next generation, their children will be able to participate in prosperity or be modesly.

My parent never escape the face of the uneducated, their eyes were filled with long hours of hard manual labour, but they took pleasure in the knowledege and thanks to education i had the opportunities they had liked. That perspective was played out by the millions of Africans in the 90's and who struggled to send their children to school.

I work in a very remote part of the Uganda and what I see can be better felt than describe!. I appreciate generous people like you who offer me opportunities to conduct evaluation work from which I support few vulnerable children to access and stay in schools. With 2 million Uganda shillings, we can keep 10 (5 Girsl, 5 boys) in primary schools (Tuition and Feeding) in northen Uganda for a year. The support targets children whose parents were robed of sustainable livelihoods. Many struggle to feed their families through hand-to-mouth activities which can barely keep their children in schools. Such children risk falling in vicious cycle of poverty. It doesn’t have to be that way! We can, we must, do something to break the cycle. No child in this century should miss basic formal education.

It is well said that ‘Children are legitimate leaders of the future’. However, that will only remain a mantra if we continue to watch without questions and practical support. This initiative is only a drop in the ocean of educational needs of vulnerable children but nonetheless a promising one.
